Kevin received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law in 2006. While in law school, Kevin was an Editor on the University of Denver Water Law Review and he finished in the top 20% of his law school class. Prior to law school, Kevin received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2000. Subsequent law school, Kevin clerked for the Honorable John L. Wheeler at the Arapahoe County District Court working in both the civil and criminal dockets. After his clerkship, he practiced law in the small mountain town of Gunnison, CO working on real estate matters, water law issues, land use disputes, and other litigation matters. Soon after, Kevin worked for an environmental consulting firm helping to put together a damages claim against British Petroleum (BP) for the damage caused from the 2010 Gulf of Mexico Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Kevin decided to open up his solo practice, Lazar Law, LLC, in October 2013, and focuses on elder law issues, estate administration, and estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advanced directives, and other estate planning documents.

Ms. Whitney is a real estate lawyer in Denver who has been working on real estate transactions throughout Colorado’s Front Range for more than 10 years. Before she was a lawyer, she was a commercial lender, so she has a deep understanding of title and finance-related issues. She truly understands the nitty-gritty of how to get a deal done and can be a great asset to buyers, sellers, and brokers. Katherine earned her J.D. at the University of Colorado Law School, where she interned with the Honorable Judge David M. Furman of the Colorado Court of Appeals. She was elected to the law school’s financial advisory board and served as an editor of The Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy. When away from the office, she enjoys Schutzhund training and exploring Colorado’s back country with her Belgian Malinois.

Deanne is a partner with Messner Reeves, LLP.  Prior to joining Messner Reeves, Deanne was the owner of the Stodden Law Firm, LLC and of counsel to Carpenter & Klatskin, P.C..  Deanne’s practice encompasses all areas of real estate law, business law, banking law and creditor’s rights. The majority of her legal career has focused on the representation of large and small financial institutions and other creditors in residential and commercial foreclosures, loan workouts, deficiency actions and real estate litigation.  Deanne handles quiet title actions, partition actions, drafts party wall agreements and handles title claims and lien priority disputes.  Deanne has significant experience negotiating and documenting loan transactions involving real estate.  She drafts and negotiates residential and commercial leases, license agreements, cell tower leases and enjoys working with small businesses on entity formation and organizational structure as well as a providing assistance with a variety of business-related agreements.

In addition to her work, Deanne is active in the legal community and is a frequent author and speaker on a variety of real estate law and creditors’ rights topics.  Deanne is the Managing Editor of the Colorado Bar Association CLE Colorado Real Estate Practice books and helps teach the thirteen-week course in real estate practice.  Deanne is currently a member of the Colorado Bar Association Ethics Committee and is a liaison to the Colorado Bar Association Real Estate Section Council.  In addition, Deanne is on the Board of Directors for Colorado Canine Rescue.
